Fred Thompson Abortion Stand Investigated

If Fred Thompson didn't already understand the lengths opponents would go to in order to destroy a fellow candidate, he certain understands that now. The past couple of weeks, Fred Thompson has been under attack because his sons work for a lobbying firm in Washington D.C. and within the past few days, Thompson's switching stance, over the years, on the abortion issue has also taken on a more intense fever.

I have written here on more times than I can count that U.S. politics need a third party because the Republicans and Democrats have both sold there souls to special interest on the far right and far left in the United States. The good news is that most Americans are not extremist and most of the time regular mainstream voters try and pick the lessor of two evils on election day. Fred Thompson should be a shew in for the nomination of the GOP considering the large numbers of far right social conservatives that make up that party's primary's, but since President Bush has alienated many GOP voters with his stand on issues like immigration reform, the GOP based is not only disgusted; but down right angry with many members of their own party.

These new attacks on Fred Thompson's changing stand on abortion are probably coming his way in a covert way via the Rudy Giuliani campaign. Since Rudy is in the lead in most polls and his stand on issues like abortion are not in the mainstream of the Republican Party, it only makes since that Rudy's campaign would reap the biggest benefit from a crippled Fred Thompson campaign for president. I have as of yet not seen the "fire in the gut" from Fred Thompson and without that egotistical desire for this nations highest office, I doubt if Fred Thompson will be able to withstand the tremendous stress and pressure involved in earning the job of President of the United States.
