Hillary Under Attack From Barack Obama

It was bound to happen that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama would start taking pot shots at each other and that political reality started in earnest this week. Hillary took the first shot at Obama with her debate comment about how she would not meet with some foreign leaders during her first year as our new president. A few days later, Barack Obama took the gloves off as well and attacked Hillary's early support of the War in Iraq and her senate vote to send U.S. troops to that country as being Bush/Cheney like.

It's about time that Barack Obama started acting like a real candidate for president instead of just a nice looking guy on a poster. Hillary did score points with her attack on Barack Obama during the debate and now we are going to see how well Obama can fight back when challenged by a seasoned political heavyweight. While I like the idea of Barack Obama, his actual stand on the issues has starting to concern me more and more everyday. Especially, his pacifist attitude about the use of military force, even in situations where this country is directly threatened.

A political battle is good for the United States because most politicians have a message and they do there darn well best not to stray away from that message during campaign appearances. However, when there are at least two candidates with a chance of winning the democratic nomination for president there will be occasions when the candidates will be forced to ad lib there thoughts and feelings and at that point the voters have the opportunity to see how a particular candidate really feels about an issue and also how well they handle a stressful situation.

Neither Hillary or Barack Obama has been put under the political stress test so far this year and it is time for both of these contenders for the democratic nomination for president to let the voters see there thought making process during moments of crisis.
