Wife Of Fred Thompson Under Pressure

Well it was bound to happen and now people on the right and left are attacking Fred Thompson's young wife for exerting too much control over his campaign for President. When I say it was bound to happen, I mean that considering the age difference between Fred Thompson and his wife, the political pundits and high priced advisers that want to hook up with potential winning candidates were never going to accept marching orders from a woman younger then they are on behalf of Fred Thompson.

Politics is a violent sport even on a clear day and when you mix presidential politics and a well known actor and politician like Fred Thompson with a wife almost half his age, there are going to be problems in the GOP. To be honest, I believe Fred Thompson is just going through the motions of trying to get the GOP nomination for President of the United States. He has said himself on television that he really does not have a big desire to become the president and that one statement causes me to take pause as to why he is seeking the office in the first place.

Like many other famous people from Hollywood, Fred Thompson has dated and is currently married to a woman that could easily be his daughter. While I have no problem with people of all ages finding true love in people half their age; I do not believe I am in the majority holding that view. There are still some very old fashion kind of folks out there in American and most of these conservative thinking people are members of the Republican Party. That fact makes it difficult for Fred Thompson to get a foot hold on the party's nomination and no amount of hype can change some of these deep held feelings before the 2008 presidential election.
