The weather forecasters are focusing their attention tonight on Tropical Storm Dean as it moves west across the Atlantic Ocean toward the United States. So far this hurricane season there has been little to report as this once predicted high volume hurricane season has yet to show any major storms. While I respect the job weather professional do, they are down right terrible at predicting anything that is more than 24 hours away. This is why so many people have a love/hate relationship with there local weatherman/women.
While hurricanes are terrible events, most weather professional and reporters do the opposite of what they encourage there viewers to do and they head right into the heart of a hurricane as it is making landfall. The main reason I hate hurricane season is because I know I will not be able to escape all the reporters from every national news network from heading right for the eye of the storm and having their picture taken as 100 mile per hour winds plus ravage their bodies.
It is no wonder that thousands of people refuse to listen to the weatherman as he talks about the dangers of an upcoming storm. It only makes common sense that if a storm is really dangerous that reporters would wish to save there own lives, too. Right now, Tropical Storm Dean is a long way from hurricane strength, but that could change within the next few days as this storm moves toward Cuba. There will be a few hurricanes that will hit the U.S. this year and this may be the first one to actually have a chance to disrupt the lives of East Coast residents.
