The past week or so I have been expressing my views here that I believe Don Imus should hang up his spurs and retire to his ranch in New Mexico. Like with any emotional issue, my comments came under fire from some people that really like listening to Don Imus and some of them let their views be known here. I discovered after making my comments about Don Imus that there are blogs that contain many fans and they are quick to defend him even after his comments about the Rutgers Women's Basketball team.
I love freedom of speech and any time I give my point of view about anyone that is famous, I usually get several email's and blog comment postings from folks that think I am wrong. Most of the time when that happens I have a smile on my face because it proves to me what a great country I live in when it allows me to speak my mind online while at the same time allowing people that think I am full of hot air to totally disagree with my point of view.
It has become clear to me that even if I think Don Imus should retire and spend the rest of his life helping dying children achieve their dreams at his New Mexico ranch. There are other people that believe Don Imus was cheated out of his job by a politically correct world that places the wishes of folks like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson above there own personal moral values. On that point I agree with the people that think Don Imus was treated badly by CBS Radio.
As to whether Don Imus returns to the airwaves or not it really doesn't matter to me because I probably won't listen. However, I do understand that millions of people did like listening to Don Imus and to them they feel like they were cheated out of his daily radio program by a bunch of extremist that want to control free speech in the United States.
