The decision to bring the Space Shuttle Endeavour home early has been made, so sometime on Tuesday astronauts will turn the shuttle around in space and head for the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. While almost everyone on Earth is currently focused to Hurricane Dean and the disastrous damage this storm might do to the United States if it hits the Gulf Coast of Texas, some of us are still concerned about the damaged heat title on the bottom of Space Shuttle Endeavour.
Now that NASA has made their decision to not try and repair the damage on the bottom of Space Shuttle Endeavour, it is time to start praying that they made the correct decision. My opinions on NASA are clear that I believe the smart men and women that work at NASA are sometimes too focused on computer models and projected survival rates and less focused on what their instincts would tell them to do if they didn't have computers in the first place.
In 48 hours we will all know if NASA engineers are considered the smartest people in the world by the public or will they once again be considered educated fools by the public. I for one prefer the smartest people in the world example because if that happens all the astronauts on the Space Shuttle Endeavour will be back home and safe just in time to watch what eventually happens to the U.S. mainland as Hurricane Dean gives us his punch.
