Lindsay Lohan - West Is Still Wild

I remember when I was growing up back in the 1960's watching old westerns on television talking about how dangerous it was for settlers in the "old wild west". In many ways the western part of the United States has changed, but when it comes to obeying the law and legal consequences for illegal behavior little has changed in the west. Just look at how Lindsay Lohan was treated after her drunk driving conviction where she was sentenced to one (1) day in jail.

In many ways, the old saying that "anything goes in Hollywood" is still true because there seems to be little chance a person will go to jail for very long unless they kill someone. However, even when murder is charged and proven sometimes juries still refuse to require justice for criminal behavior. I believe there is a totally different mind set for people that live in California than in the rest of the United States. It is relatively safe for someone like Lindsay Lohan to drive drunk (DUI) and not be required to pay a severe price for that criminal conduct.

I personally feel bad for Lindsay Lohan because I believe the court system has let her down because of there lenient treatment. The only way young people mature is by experiencing problems and then being forced to find ways to solve those problems and also to face penalties when they break the rules. It's clear to me that Lindsay Lohan's mother and father did not have very many family rules when she was growing up and now this pretty young woman is paying the price for basically having to raise herself. Young women, in Hollywood, with self destructive behavior are becoming the norm and that fact should scare everyone.
