Dallas Cowboys Win Again In Miami

After last years less than spectacular ending to the Dallas Cowboys' football season and the departure of head coach Bill Parcells' I had little hope that the 2007 season would be much more than a rebuilding year. However, something happened to the Dallas Cowboys' on the way to that rebuilding year and that event was the decision by Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones to hire Wade Phillips as the new head football coach of the team. Like most other Dallas Cowboys' fans, I just assumed that Wade Phillips' would not be that great of a coach because Jerry Jones refused to pay coach Phillips' as much money as he paid Bill Parcells.

Last week against the New York Giants' and then today against the Miami Dolphins, the Dallas Cowboys look less like a team going through a rebuilding process and more like a proven team headed for the playoffs'. I'm not sure what Coach Wade Phillips is feeding the players on the Dallas Cowboys' team, but I hope he has enough of it to last for the rest of the year. The Cowboys' look great and while they are making too many mistakes, they are still able to march the offense down the field and put enough points on the board to win games.

As a long time, fair weathered, Dallas Cowboys' fan I just love watching "America's Team" play when they are playing well and winning football games on Sunday afternoon. Today's game in Miami was a hot one where players from both teams were suffering through tremendous heat and humidity. In the end the Dallas Cowboys' were victorious over the Miami Dolphins which brings their 2007 record to 2-0. A month ago I would not have even hoped that the Dallas Cowboys would have won their first two games, much less win them by decisive margins. While I was initially critical of the Wade Phillips coaching decision, in hind sight I am happy to report that I was probably wrong in my initial rush to judgment.
