Senator Larry Craig Lies - Refuses To Resign Office

As the never ending soap opera life of Senator Larry Craig continues in Washington, every time he speaks I have less and less respect for the man. First, he was quick to tell everyone that he was not gay and then he promised to resign his Senate office if a judge refused to throw out his guilty plea for disorderly conduct in a mens restroom in Minnesota. Today, that judge did not throw out his guilty plea and instead of keeping his word, Larry Craig has decided to finish out his term as a United States Senator from Idaho. Of course, the voters will kick Larry Craig out of office the next time he tries to run in the Republican Primary in Idaho, but until then he will cause great damage to an already beaten up GOP that is trying to mount a challenge to Hillary Clinton in the next presidential election.

Senator Larry Craig is exactly the type of politician that gives all elected representatives in Washington a bad name. First Larry Craig gets caught doing something illegal, then pleads guilty hoping he won't get discovered and then once discovered he lies to the American people about resigning his high office as a U.S. Senator. I don't know if it is possible, but if it is Members of the U.S. Senator should expel Larry Craig from their membership and send him back home. I know there are only a few months left on Senator Craig's six (6) year term as a U.S. Senator, but every day he is in office is a black eye not only on himself, but other Republicans that are trying to do the right thing and win in 2008.

There should be no room in the GOP for politicians like Larry Craig, that believe they can commit crimes and try and cover them up while at the same time holding on to their office and government paycheck. It not just bad that Senator Craig tried to solicate gay sex in a mens room, but the fact that he continues to lie to the people of America about what he will and will not do is enough in my opinion to send him packing and let someone else represent the good people of Idaho for the next few months. Like others before him, Senator Larry Craig believes he will be able to talk his way out of this mess. However, Senator Craig is wrong and no one will benefit by his staying in office except himself and most certainly Democrats that are trying to maintain control of the U.S. Senate.
