While driving today I heard a report on the radio that Paris Hilton has agreed to be interviewed on the NBC "Today Show" for a fee of one millions dollars. The interview is to take place immediately after she is released from jail for violating her probation on two different occasions. It is wrong that Paris Hilton is rewarded for bad behavior like violating probation, but in my book it is even more wrong for a major U.S. television network to offer her one million dollars for the interview in the first place.
To any parent it is clear to see that Paris Hilton is a spoiled rotten child that received little to no real parenting when she was growing up. That said, the U.S. news media has gone mad in an attempt to one up each other in the coverage of tabloid news stories like the incarceration of Ms. Hilton. I guess anything goes these days in the news business and this one million dollar offer by NBC is just the latest example of how the major news media in the United States has changed for the worst over the past several decades.
With the legal cases of OJ Simpson, Michael Jackson and now Paris Hilton it is clear to anyone with a brain that the legal system in the United States is the best that money can buy and those with huge monetary resources are not subject to the same system as poor citizens that are forced to be represented by a public defender. There is most definitely a two tiered legal system in the United States. One represent people like Paris Hilton and the rest of us are stuck with another one that has made huge mistakes over the years and sent innocent people to jail for crimes they did not commit.
I have always heard that "the rich get richer" in the United States and with this latest offer of one million dollars for an exclusive interview with Paris Hilton, NBC is carrying on that sad but true reality. The real people to blame for the mistakes in judgment in Ms. Hilton's life are her parents. I would be shocked if any discipline was ever practiced against Paris when she was a young girl growing up in a life of privilege. I remember my parents saying things to me like, "spare the rod and spoil the child" as my sister and I grew up in a small Texas town. I'll just bet there was no rod to be found in Paris Hilton's house growing up because she seems so immature for her age.
Paris Hilton is just the latest famous person living in Hollywood to get into trouble after being raised with a silver spoon in her mouth and shame on NBC TV for being more of a problem in Paris Hilton's life than a solution.

Rush Leads GOP To Defeat
Without really realizing it, radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh is leading the GOP to political defeat in the years to come. First let me say that I enjoy listening to Rush Limbaugh and in recent months I have been listening to his broadcasts as I travel around preforming my daily duties. The reason Rush Limbaugh is more successful than any other radio talk show host is because he is very entertaining. Some people especially on the far left of the political spectrum cannot stand to listen to "Rush" because they are so obsessed with there liberal belief system and they also do not have a sense of humor to begin with.
There is one major similarity between Rush Limbaugh and far left liberals and that is both extremes believe that their ideas are correct and the other side is completely wrong. The reason I believe Rush Limbaugh is destroying the GOP in years to come is because of his strong stand against immigration reform. When you listen to Rush Limbaugh over an extended period of time a definite pattern starts to develop in his opinions about immigration reform. Limbaugh is quick to say that he believes in immigration to the United States, but most of his radio time is spent on "one trick pony" issues like building a fence along the U.S./Mexico border. Only in modern times would a true conservative believe that a 700 mile long fence would be a good idea.
The real issue that is driving Rush Limbaugh and other public conservatives crazy is one that they will never be publicly talk about because it is very politically incorrect to express such views in this day and age. What scares Rush Limbaugh the most about an influx of immigrants into the United States are the changes these immigrants will have on U.S. culture. To Rush Limbaugh and millions of other conservatives assimilation is the first and biggest step to allowing people to immigrate to the United States. The world has always been in a ever flux of change and while most of us don't like change very much, in reality it is going to happen whether we want it to on not.
I have noticed in recent years that true blue conservatives are scared to death of change in the United States. The status quo is working quite well for them and anything that upsets this comfort zone within there lives causes a natural instinct to fight against it which is based on a fear of change and losing a good thing. The conservative movement in the United States is fighting a losing battle and in recent months I have noticed Rush Limbaugh and other radio conservatives have started talking like victims when old ideas are suggested again like the fairness doctrine. Just like immigration reform will cause change, so will new rules like the fairness doctrine. I would think a real conservative would work to find new ideas to succeed in a changing market place, but old line, financially comfortable types like Rush Limbaugh have not changed in years and now they are starting to sound like liberal victims themselves as the world changes around them.
