Teen Movie Disturbia Not Half Bad

My wife and I went to see a movie today called, "Disturbia". In a world of scary movies that cause more laughter than fear, "Disturbia" was a breath of fresh air and it was well worth the money for people of all ages. This movie is fast paced and is based on some real life events that take place in a high school teenagers life. I have often wondered what would be going through my mind if I lived next door to a serial killer and this movie did a good job of explaining what might happen to a teenager that accidentally sees something a serial killer does not want him to witness.

Some parts of "Disturbia" are silly teenage age stuff that will only appeal to people under the age of 20, but the writing of this movie is fantastic and it is well worth the price of admission. Of course when teenagers are involved there will be a bunch of sexual tension involved in a movie and that is also the case in "Distrubia". However, rather than having a meaningless and endless parade of one night stand romances, this movie actually portrays the teenagers as more grown up than any movie I have seen in a long time.

I do not want to give away too much about this movie, "Disturbia" because I want you to see it at your local theater or when it is released on DVD later this month. When I pay good money to see a scary movie, I want to see a really scary movie and that is what I got today when I went to see "Disturbia". To me, it is a breath of fresh air when a movie director chooses to put teenagers in challenging roles instead of the constant peddling of flesh in shows like "Girls Gone Wild". The writing, acting and directing of "Disturbia" are great and you should consider seeing this movie if you love a good old fashion nail biter right till the end kind of the flick.

Finally Some Sun In Waco Texas

After weeks of tremendous rainfall, the sun is shining bright in Waco, Texas this afternoon and that is a welcome sight for residents that have spend weeks trying to find higher ground as dozens of inches of rain have swamped our area. There is more rain in the forecast for the July 4th holiday, but most folks here in Central Texas have learned to enjoy a break in the weather even though it sometimes only last for one day.

This morning I was reading some news on the Internet about the massive weather contrast between Texas and the West Coast. The Los Angeles area is having one of the driest years on record and everyone has seen the terrible devastation being wrought on residents in the Lake Tahoe area as a forest fire continues to burn out of control. Only a few short months ago, Waco Texas was also in a huge multi year drought situation and when our drought finally broke, it did so in a huge way.

Later today I plan to take a road trip out to Lake Waco to see how much the water level has risen in the past week. So much rain has fallen in the DFW area all the way down to San Antonio and Austin that most area lakes are filled to capacity and they are being forced to release water into an already flooded river system. I heard on the radio yesterday that the Trinity River, which runs directly through downtown Dallas is running bank to bank and that level will most likely rise as two large lakes upstream from Dallas are forced to release even more water after last weeks record rainfall.

Eagerly Awaiting Paul Potts New CD

In a strange way, I find myself waiting eagerly for the new album (CD) from "Britain's Got Talent" winner Paul Potts. Mind you I have never been a fan of Opera music, but Paul Potts' changed me with his "knock your socks off" performance on a reality TV show in the U.K. a couple of weeks ago. Almost on a daily basis I search for information on what the title of Paul Potts' new CD will be, what songs will be on it and when it will be release in the United States.

I have still been unable to find out any reliable information on what Paul Potts' new CD will be titled or how many songs will be on this CD once it is released in late July. Please feel free to add a comment to this posting if you have any additional information about Paul Potts' new album (CD). I read a story last week about how Potts' suffered from depression in high school after bully's picked on him all the time. In a strange twist of fate, other great musical talents were also picked on by kids at school because they were also different from most other students.

While most other people were waiting in line yesterday to purchase a new iPhone, I was quietly sitting around at my home computer and searching for additional information on Paul Potts' new CD. Oh well, even old folks like me sometimes get impatient when something new and exciting is about to be released and I still expect to be one of the first people in line when Paul Potts' new CD does go on sale in about three weeks. I have a gut feeling that I am not alone in wanting to purchase Paul Potts' new CD and if I am right, Potts' with the help of Simon Cowell will soon light up the lives of millions of people around the world.
