Lindsay Lohan Arrested On DUI Charges

On Friday, Lindsay Lohan surrendered herself to police in Los Angeles on charges that she was drunk when she was involved in a motor vehicle accident over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Lindsay Lohan was booked and then released on her own recognizance the same day. Over the past six weeks, Lindsay Lohan has been in rehab, again to deal with issues of alcohol and drug abuse and everyone hopes that this time Ms. Lohan will be able to stay clean and sober.

While people around the world are hungry to hear stories about how the rich and famous keep messing up there own lives, the truth is that Lindsay Lohan is a real human being and not just some character in a book or motion picture. I remember watching in horror the events leading up to this accident that sent Lindsay Lohan to the hospital with injuries. The reason I remember the accident is because members of the Hollywood paparazzi were following Lindsay Lohan's every move that night and they were also on hand when Ms. Lohan lost control of her car and skidded into a tree.

While the antics of famous folks like Lindsay Lohan might be exciting and interesting to watch on television, the truth is that the reason the paparazzi are follow Lindsay Lohan is because she is out of control and no one knows what she will do next. Right now, Lindsay Lohan is big news and as long as she keeps doing the wrong things in life the paparazzi and tabloid news media will continue to follow her around in the hopes of catching her doing something wrong. Sometimes I don't know which is worse... Lindsay Lohan drinking and driving or an ever present paparazzi following her around with the hope of filming a tragedy somewhere in her path.

Oprah Helps Barack Obama Raise Money

Barack Obama has already set records in fund raising for his bid to win the democratic nomination for president and his "good friend" Oprah will soon be helping him even more. In September, Oprah will host a fund raiser in California for Barack Obama that will help this unlikely underdog for President of the United States raise even more money in his attempt to secure the democratic nomination.

Everyone knows how many friends Bill and Hillary Clinton have in the Hollywood community, but until Oprah and a few other entertainment big names came forward recently for Barack Obama, few people really knew about the famous that are lining up to support Obama. Barack Obama is an exciting man to listen to even if you don't totally agree with him on all the major issues of the day. I am against socialism in the United States so you might think that I wouldn't support Barack Obama, but in some ways I do like Obama because I believe this man has the ability to hold on to his core beliefs, but at the same time search for compromise with others that are not as extreme in their point of view.

Oprah will most likely help Barack Obama raise millions of extra dollars for his White House bid and he is going to need all the money he can raise to beat Hillary Clinton for the democratic nomination. Everyone knows how Bill and Hillary Clinton win elections and that is to destroy the credibility of there opponents. This is why Barack Obama must raise huge sums of money because he is going to need that money to fight back against endless attacks by the Clinton's through television commercials as the first major presidential primaries pop on the scene in the first part of next year.
