Yesterday, "Britain's Got Talent" winner Paul Potts visited the dentist and was fitted with a new cap for the tooth he damaged when he was still a kid. Paul Potts' was reportedly thrilled with the results of the new capped tooth and without a doubt this one change for Paul will increase his confidence level, if it needed any more boosting, even further. One thing about people in this world that is pretty much universal is that they, sometimes without even meaning it, will stare at differences in other people and that staring has the effect of causing discomfort in others.
Now, people will be able to listen to Paul Potts' wonderful voice and not see a chipped tooth anymore. To me, it didn't matter whether Paul Potts had a chipped tooth or no teeth at all. Paul's voice was what made me happy, but I'm certain that from Paul Pott's point of view having this tooth fixed was a very big deal indeed. Now it is time for Paul Potts to show the world what he can really do and he certainly is on the path of winning the hearts and souls of millions of people around the world with the release of his new CD "One Chance".
Today, Paul Potts new CD goes on sale here in the United States and it will be interesting to follow his record sales over the next few weeks and see just how well he does here in the good old USA. I think many music veterans are going to be blown away by the numbers of CD's sold by Paul Potts in the United States because his exposer here in America has mainly been from YouTube and not radio air play. Look for Paul Potts to be interviewed on broadcast and cable television programs a lot the next few weeks as his new CD climbs the U.S. music charts.

Fred Thompson Raised $3 Million - June
There has been excitement about the idea of Fred Thompson entering the GOP race for president for several months and now the first big test toward making a successful bid for the White House, money raising, has been completed. Fred Thompson raised $3 million dollars in June to bring his total money raised for his yet to be announced campaign to a total of $5 million dollars. This is a large amount of money, by most people's standards, but for a guy that has been touted as the alternative to Rudy Giuliani in the GOP primary it may not be enough.
Yes, there is a bunch of excitement surrounding the Fred Thompson campaign and I personally like this man from Tennessee that I knew long before he entered politics in movies like, "The Hunt For Red October". There is much unrest in the GOP right now within the Ronald Reagan branch of the party. Rudy Giuliani is not a social conservative by any stretch of the imagination and Mitt Romney, while a money raising machine, is not catching on with a majority of the social conservative grass-roots either.
This void of a true social conservative that actually has a chance to win is what is driving the campaign of Fred Thompson and in a way the small amount of money Thompson has raised in comparison to other candidates and yet to announce candidates is proof that the social conservative moment built by Ronald Reagan is not the politically dominating force it once was. Yes, there are still millions of social conservatives that will show up on election day and vote for candidates that support there view of America. However, the "big tent" in the Republican Party has grown smaller since the election of President Bush and many "die hard" GOP voters, like myself, are looking more toward moderation and less toward extremism in the future.
I wish Fred Thompson well in his possible run for the White House and if he eventually comes up unsuccessful it will not be his fault, but instead the blame should go to the steep right direction people like President Bush and former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay took the party in the past five years which had the effect of tearing the Ronald Reagan GOP big tent concept to pieces.

Nicole Wins By Marrying Keith Urban
A few days ago I wrote about the celebration of the one year anniversary of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. Since that time I have been thinking about where Nicole Kidman came from and what a nut case Tom Cruise turned out to be during their marriage. Then I got to thinking about what a breath of fresh air Keith Urban must have been for Kidman after living with a religious extremist all those years. Yes, Keith Urban has had his problems too with drug and alcohol abuse. However, there is treatment for that type of problem where there is no known treatment for a self absorbed religious zealot that takes up with a religious cult and devotes his whole life to the cause.
Some folks might think it is strange that I consider Nicole Kidman the big winner in her marriage with Keith Urban, but if all of us would just take a couple of steps back from all the hype that surrounds Hollywood stars, it is not difficult to imagine. Keith Urban offered Nicole a safe home where she could be herself instead of a home controlled by the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard. Considering also that Nicole and Keith Urban are both of Australian decent, there must be a certain common bond between the two just considering they were raised in the same country and with the same type of background.
The Hollywood community would like for you to believe that Keith Urban is the big winner by marring a huge movie start like Nicole Kidman. However, in my view the role of who is actually better off is quite different. In Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman found a man that is not perfect and is also battling his way through life and trying to improve himself one day at a time. In her previous marriage, she had a husband that thought he was prefect to begin with and the only thing that really needed to be changed was his wife to more follow his out of touch religious teachings.
