No Ache Breaky In Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana Heart

I like to think of myself as a well read person, but up until a few months ago I had never heard of Miley Cyrus or the popular character she plays on the Disney Channel by the name of Hannah Montana. I first started noticing this beautiful young girl when my wife and I would visit one of our favorite pizza restaurants where the Disney Channel was playing on one of their TV sets. One night while we were eating at this pizza restaurant I asked my wife who that attractive young woman was on the television. My wife looked a little bit disgusted with me as she said that her name was Miley Cyrus and the character she was playing on that show was called 'Hannah Montana'. My wife looked disgusted with me because she thought everyone on Earth had heard of Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus.

Then I found out that Miley Cyrus was the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, who made the song 'Ache Breaky Heart' a smash hit many years ago. While I mean no disrespect toward Billy Ray, his daughter is certainly better looking than he is. Since I first learned about what a sensation Miley Cyrus had become as the TV character Hannah Montana, I have discovered that two of my niece's think the world of her and look to her as their number one role model. A few days ago, I watched and listened to Miley Cyrus sing on Dick Clark's 'Rockin New Years Eve' show along with one of my favorite singers Carrie Underwood. Ms. Cyrus is not only beautiful and can act, but she has a wonderful singing voice as well.

A few days before Christmas, I was visiting an ill relative that was watching a show on 'CMT' where they were following around Miley Cyrus' father, Billy Ray as he was out of tour. Since I usually listen to oldies on the radio when I am in my car, I didn't know until then that Billy Ray was still touring the country and preforming at concerts. While watching this show on 'CMT', Billy Ray Cyrus preformed a song I had never heard before called 'All Gave Some – Some Gave All'. The song is about soldiers that are or have severed this great country during times of war. While Billy Ray preformed that song, he invited up to the stage a retired soldier to hold up a banner of support for U.S. troops. Much to my surprise, tears were flowing from my eyes at the end of that song.

While many of us consider ourselves well read individuals, in reality we are all dumb in some areas of modern life. The fact that I didn't know who Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana was until a few months ago proves that no matter how much each of us keeps up with the news of the day, there will always be areas of life that we are never exposed to.
