In every presidential election cycle recently there is one candidate that cares more about their own ego than the will of the people. Years ago that candidate was Ross Perot when his independent bid for President cost President George HW Bush the election to former President Clinton. However, no third party spoiler has become more consistent at entering a presidential race, late, in recent years than Ralph Nader. Once again in 2008, Ralph 'Spoiler' Nader is trying to draw attention to himself by entering the race.
I wish there was a independent political party called the Narcissistic Party of America because people like Ralph Nader would fit right in there. Just like in previous presidential elections, Ralph Nader has no chance to win. His only goal is to steal voters from the democratic nominee for President. The reason I get more angry at spoilers like Ralph Nader than any of the other independent candidates for President is that rather than having an idea and running with it during the campaign season - Ralph Nader chooses to jump in the race at the last minute, not to win, but to help someone lose.
For some reason Ralph Nader hates the democratic party. More than likely at some point in Nader's life someone in the democratic party must have hurt him and Mr. Nader must have a memory like an Elephant. When I was a young boy growing up in the US Heartland, Ralph Nader was someone that was look upon as a bad person because he was constantly driving up the price of automobiles with his endless fight against US car makers. In recent years, Mr. Nader has turned his negative attitude on life away from GM, Ford and Chrysler and pointed it in the direction of the democratic party.
With the likely nomination of Barack Obama as the democratic nominee for President, Ralph Nader will probably not run fast enough in 2008 to even get warm, much less hot. The American people have a strong desire of a viable third party that reflects a political mood of moderation, but Ralph Nader does not come close to filling that bill. Instead, Ralph Nader is a throw back from past that most Americans have moved away from. Ralph 'Spoiler' Nader is once again proving to the people of America that he cares more about his own ego than what is in the best interest of this country.
The good news is that Nader has no chance to win in the general election. America does not need another President that cares more about himself than he does about this country.
