Will Nashville Obama/McCain Debate Change Minds?

Tonight, John McCain and Barack Obama will mix it up once again in a nationally televised debate from Nashville, Tennessee. The question I have is, 'will anyone's mind be changed by this second of three debates'? I doubt it because most people have already formed their opinions of these two men and unless some kind a major gaff occurs during the debate tonight, tomorrow Obama will still be leading - while McCain continues to fall further behind.

In a way I feel sorry for John McCain because he is a real American War Hero and the service that he gave to this country during his years as a POW in Vietnam contained more sacrifice than most of us will contribute to this great nation in a lifetime. However, Sen McCain is in the wrong political party, at a time, when the US economy is taking a nose dive and he of all people should be able to see the writing on the wall of what is going to happen next month when election day rolls around.

For over a week now, Sen. McCain has been trying to aligned Sen. Obama with terrorist radicals from his past. Surely by now, most Americans know how the Washington political game of if you can't win on the issues – then destroy your opponent anyway you can, is played. All recent polling data suggests that Obama is pulling out to a comfortable lead over McCain and I doubt if anything will be said or done in tonight's debate that will change that political reality.

Unfortunately for McCain, it appears like a desperate attack on Obama no matter how they try to spin it.
