60 Minutes Story About Ritalin / Aderall Use On Campus

"60 Minutes Story About Ritalin / Aderall Use On Campus." Tonight, on the CBS News magazine "60 Minutes" there was a story about the abuse of drugs that are suppose to treat kids with attention deficient disorder (ADD) being used instead by college students to better concentrate when studying and also to make better grades on tests. Put simply, both Ritalin and Aderall are nothing more than refined doses of amphetamines.

Sadly, the students who were interview on 60 Minutes tonight did little to discourage the use of these drugs for what they referred to as "brain boosting power - but instead they proclaimed how these two drugs helped them do better in school. Sometimes 60 Minutes gets a hold of a story that will be discussed around the country by millions the next day. Their story tonight about the abuse of Ritalin and Aderall by college students is one that needs more follow up because these kids are damaging their bodies and brains without even knowing it.
