From the beginning, President Obama has tried and failed to win Republican support for his massive take over of the U.S. health care system by the federal government. Of course, liberal democrats have been saying all along that this change in health care is not a government take over - but if you look at what the U.S. government usually does once it gets it's feet in the door with anything big, it's easy to see that in the near future there will be more and more control of health care taken over by the U.S. federal government in Washington. Most liberals believe more in federal government control of things like health care, while most Republicans mistrust the motives of an already too large U.S. federal government.
In the end, when push comes to shove - it will be democrats in the U.S. Congress that will finally defeat President Obama's new health care reform changes. Now that it appears that only 51 votes will be needed in the U.S. Senate to pass health care reform, the full weight of blame will fall right at the feet of Democrats, many of which are representing moderate to conservative leaning districts. Soon, we will all see health care reform go down in defeat and when that happens it will be Democrats that will kill it and not those big bad Republicans who have been to blame up until now. The U.S. does need health care reform, but not this type of heavy handed federal government controlled approach. The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, and Fairer Health Care
