Will The 2012 Dallas Cowboys Reach The Playoffs?

On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys will play their fourth game of the regular season. After game one, I had a good feeling about the team.

Will Inflation Drive Gold Prices Higher?

Those who do not learn from history are destined to repeat it. Long ago, I heard that famous saying and it definitely applies to inflation and the price of Gold.

Federal Reserve Is Digging A Hole Of Debt

Like most of you, I worry about how much debt the U.S.A. is accumulating right now.

Is The GOP On The Wrong Side Of History?

I am a middle aged white man who has supported the GOP for most of my life. That said, in recent years I have began to wonder if the Republican Party is not in the process of self-destruction considering the growth of non-white voters and the amount of phobia toward other races within the GOP?

The modern day Republican Party looks in no way the same as when Ronald Reagan served as President. Over the past couple of decades, the GOP nationally has turned into a white mans party that not only fears change, but is militant in that view. Personally, I believe the GOP began to self-destruct when social conservatives were elevated to higher power than the fiscal conservatives within the party who have always been there.

The dirty little secret that no one in the Republican Party wants to publicly acknowledged is that many social conservatives are nothing more than angry white men who do not like other races sitting in leadership positions. In fact, many of these social conservatives believe that God looks just like them and everyone else does not measure up to that vision.

In some ways, these angry white men believe that if the power of minorities are allowed to continue to grow - at some point in time those minorities will treat them with the same indignity that has been dished out for years against them. Make no mistake, the level of dislike and fear of minorities in Republican ranks is much greater in social conservative circles than with the voters who want to see the US government live within its financial means.

National elections are no different than most other things in life. Either the math is on your side or it is not. Simply put, the math of large numbers of voters is not on the side of the GOP and its social conservative followers, so the party itself could be shutout of presidential elections for many years to come. Over 100-years-ago, Abraham Lincoln and the Republican Party were on the right side of history when they abolished slavery. However, today that political party that freed the slaves looks nothing like it did back then.

Romney/Obama Appear On 60 Minutes Sunday Night

In 2012, the die-hard core supporters of President Obama and Governor Romney are making their final attempt to convince the folks in the middle that the country will be better off with their brand of ideology rather than the other. Those voters in the middle who always decide presidential elections are usually lied to by both liberals and conservatives in order to move the country either further to the left or right.

It has been decades since a real moderate was elected President of the United States. Four years ago, I was convinced that Barack Obama was a real moderate. However, in the end he was just another liberal who used a slick presentation of lies to fool moderate American voters. President Bush ran as a moderate too and once he took office he ran to the far right and never returned to the middle ground he claimed to believe in during his first election.

If you took the time to watch 60 Minutes on Sunday night, you saw the entire hour devoted in equal parts to Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. Sadly, nothing really new was revealed by either man. Both campaigns are completely govern by talking points that will cost them the least and offer them the most potential of winning over moderate voters.

I have always believed that the United States would be better served as a three party nation. Recently, far right conservatism has completely controlled the GOP. While at the same time, far left liberalism dominates the democratic party. I believe there are more moderates in the United States than conservatives and liberals, but those voters just don't have a political party to call their own.

I think there is a small chance that if elected Mitt Romney will lead from a position of moderation, but who knows what he will do if he takes office? Both President Obama and Governor Romney change their positions on issues depending on who they are campaigning to that day. Right now, I know President Obama is a far left liberal. However, Mitt Romney is still a big unknown in political ideology and that makes it likely he will earn my vote in November.

Dallas Cowboys Did Not Look Strong In Tampa Bay Victory

While I am happy that the Dallas Cowboys won their game today against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in reality they played poorly and would not have won if they had played a better team. I know that Jason Witten had a medical problem several weeks ago, but after a couple of games when he dropped easy to catch balls - I wonder what is going on with him?

It was so easy to hope that the major problems facing the Cowboys the past few years were over, after watching them defeat the New York Giants in game one of 2012. However, those feelings of happiness were short lived after the Seattle Seahawks destroyed them in game two and their small victory over the Buccaneers today did not do anything to make most fans feel better about the team.

I continue to wonder why Jerry Jones does not fire Tony Romo and find a great quarterback to lead the Cowboys into the future? There is a huge difference between a good quarterback and a great one. Tony Romo is good, but not great and that is why the team should cut its losses and draft someone for the future in the caliber of RG3 or Andrew Luck.

There is no reason why the Dallas Cowboys are not in contention for the Superbowl every single year. The team is one of the richest in the NFL and the fan base for the Cowboys is greater than any other team. The Cowboys face a foundation problem, similar to stories in the bible which refer to building a house on shifting sand. There is no steady foundation under the Dallas Cowboys and that is why the team continues to falter as each season progresses.

There are bright spots on the Dallas Cowboys team and those include Miles Austin and Kevin Ogletree. Both Austin and Ogletree show up each week ready to play football, but it takes more than two players to have a great team in the NFL. As has been the case for years, the core problem with the Dallas Cowboys is owner Jerry Jones. His huge ego and inability to hire a head coach with potential will continue to produce substandard teams for the foreseeable future.

Replay Of Endeavor's Flight Over Golden Gate Bridge

There were cheers and tears as the Space Shuttle Endeavor flew over the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday in San Francisco. The Endeavor is the last of a fleet of Space Shuttles to be retired by NASA as government run exploration into space comes to an end. As I sat at home and watched the Endeavor fly over the Golden Gate Bridge secured to the top of a 747, tears came to my eyes.

There are millions of Americans who are upset that the US government has given up on space travel. However, with our current economy and run away government spending - something had to go and it appears that NASA's head was on the chopping block this time. I have always believe that money paid by the government was always a good investment when funneled toward space, but apparently the powers that be in Washington do not feel the same way.

Replay Of Carly Rose Sonenclar Audition X-Factor 2012

Carly Rose Sonenclar is a 13-year-old girl who blew away the judges and millions of TV viewers on the 2012 edition of the "X-Factor USA". Carly sang the song "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone. It is clear watching the video clip above that Simon Cowell and the other judges on the X-Factor were not prepared for the amount of talent inside this young artist.

As young Carly Rose Sonenclar finished singing, over 4000 people in the audience at X-Factor 2012 were on their feet cheering for more. Included in that number were four stunned judges who could not believe what they just heard. If you missed watching Carly sing on the X-Factor, you may still watch her amazing performance via a video replay in the box above.

Replay Of Obama About Romney's 47% Comments At Fund Raiser

Yesterday, a video was released on YouTube of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney talking to a group of high priced fund raisers a few months ago. Today, President Barack Obama produced an ad denouncing what Romney had to say and then added even more negative impressions of the Republican candidate for President.

In 2008, I supported and voted for President Barack Obama. However, in 2012 - I do not have the same level of support for his reelection campaign. Over the past three and one half years, Obama has proved himself to be an old fashion liberal - instead of a man of the people moderate that was portrayed in 2008. This election is turning out to be very dirty and should also be very close on Election Day.

Replay Of Romney Talking About People Who Won't Vote For Him

"Mother Jones" released a video from a fund raiser held by GOP candidate for President Mitt Romney today. In that video, he talks about how 47% of the people will never vote for him - because they are victims and totally dependent on the government. Surely, Romney does not believe his own words?

My guess is that like he has done many times before, Governor Romney was just telling an audience what he thought they wanted to hear. Included in Romney's 47% figure are people on Social Security and I'm pretty sure most of those folks do not consider themselves victims and certain not all of them support President Obama.

Replay Of Boy Reunited With Childhood Toy

Recently, on the Today Show, there was a heart warming story about a little kid who was reunited with a toy that was lost years earlier. The name of the toy was "Ah Ha". While I always have my doubts as the the authenticity of these types of videos, this one did make me smile even though I'm pretty sure that the kid and his mother were doing a pretty good job of acting during the video.

With the invention of YouTube and other video sharing services, faking these types of heart warming clips is at an all time high. However, even if something is fake, it does not mean that we cannot enjoy the show. In reality, we all spend money all the time to watch movies and other entertainment that is nothing more than fantasy in order to make us fell better.

American Idol New Judges Urban & Minaj (Video)

The hit TV show American Idol on Fox has changed its judges. It's no secret the show has suffered ratings losses the past two seasons after Simon Cowell left to host another talent show called the X-Factor. In 2012, there will be three relatively new judges on Idol. Mariah Carey, who is married to the host of America's Got Talent Nick Cannon, will begin her second season.

The two newest judges on American Idol are Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban. Those two replace Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler who left at the end of last season. Most entertainment experts have been predicting the end of American Idol for many years now. However, I still like the show and it could continue for many more years as long as the producers keep the content and the judges fresh.

Cowboys/Seahawks Game A Total Blowout

It was a long Sunday afternoon for Dallas Cowboys fans as the Seattle Seahawks soundly defeated them. Only 10 days after the Cowboys started the 2012 season with a hard fought victory over the New York Giants, this afternoon fans saw their smiles from week one quickly vanishing into a sea of gloom.

So what should we expect from the Dallas Cowboys in 2012? Will their excellent play in week one prevail for the balance of the season or will they fall apart and end this season like so many others over the past decade? There are two major problems with the Dallas Cowboys, the first one is unsolvable - but the other one could be fixed if the team wish to do so.

The biggest challenge facing the Dallas Cowboys in 2012 is the same problem the team has had since Jimmy Johnson was fired. That problem is owner Jerry Jones. It became clear soon after the Cowboys became yearly champions in the mid-1990's that Jerry Jones' ego was too fragile for him to hire a great coach to take the Cowboys back to the Superbowl. The one person who needs to be fired the most from the Cowboys organization is the only person who cannot be fire, owner Jerry Jones.

The second problem is Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. He can and should be fired so the team can hire a real leader for the future. While there are moments of pure genius in Romo's play, when the going gets tough - he often times does not rise to the challenge facing the team. While replacing Romo would help the Cowboys in future years, as long as Jerry Jones owns the team - Superbowl's will likely be only something the Dallas Cowboys use to win.

Romney Is The Only Real Moderate In The Race

It is no secret that true blue conservatives are not in love with Mitt Romney. In fact many of them believe it would be just as well, if Obama wins reelection in November. Since I have been encouraging moderation in our President for decades now, maybe Mitt Romney is just what the doctor ordered when it comes to getting something done in Washington?

The last two Presidents were complete partisans. George W. Bush was conservative and Barack Obama is liberal. Over the years, most Americans have come down on one side or the other in their political belief system, while about 1/3 of voters consider themselves politically moderate. Ask yourself, is the USA better off today moving back and forth between liberalism and conservatism or was this a greater country when both sides worked toward compromise?

Compromise use the be the way things got done in Washington. However, in recent times - the only way progress is made is when conservatives or liberals control the White House and both Chambers of Congress. In fact, in both conservative and liberal circles - the very idea of compromise with the other side is consider an act of weakness or even worst something akin to a betrayal.

Mitt Romney is the only real moderate to win the nomination of his party to run as President in many years. While I have reservations about Romney's flip-flopping on important issues, if elected he is likely to compromise with Democrats in a way that might work. Like many other people, I was sold on Barack Obama's moderate vision of America when he ran in 2008. That campaign was dishonest, but there is a greater chance Romney will lead as a moderate if elected in 2012.

Will Romney Win Because Of Foreign Policy?

Only a few short weeks ago, it appeared that the only major issue in the 2012 race for President was the US economy. However, now that violence has picked up in the Middle East - is it possible that GOP candidate Mitt Romney could win based on his ideas of foreign policy?

As US diplomats were killed in Libya and anti-American protestors attacked US Embassy's in Egypt and other lands, President Barack Obama seemed to lack the type of leadership many Americans voters expect from their commander-in-chief. I still believe most voters will choose the next President more based on their pocketbooks then foreign policy, but the news of the past week definitely benefits Mitt Romney.

Considering the state of the US economy, it's amazing that President Obama is still competitive in his race for reelection. At present, public opinion polls suggest that Obama continues to have a small lead over Romney. Will there be an October surprise in 2012? I think there will be and that surprise will be an attack by Israel on Iran.

The Israeli's have been trying to communicate with President Obama now for several months about their concerns over Iran's promises to destroy the State of Israel. However, Obama seems to be burying his head in the sand when it comes to the real hatred of Iran toward Israel and the United States. Even though President Obama seems to be against an Israeli attack on Iran, such an event would most certainly improve his chances of winning reelection.

Why Won't President Obama Meet With Israeli Prime Minister?

Ever since Barack Obama was elected President of the United States, relations between Israel and the USA have become very cold. It's hard for me to understand why any President of the United States would turn his back on our number one friend, but that is exactly what has been happening. Israel is very concerned with nuclear development in Iran, but President Obama does not seem to share that same concern. Hopefully, relations between Israel and the USA will warm in upcoming weeks.

Chicago Teachers Strike 2012

Teachers in the City of Chicago have decided to go on strike this morning, September 10, 2012. While much of the USA is still suffering through a recession, some unions still refuse to be thankful for the good jobs they have and decided instead use strikes to obtain even more wages and benefits than the average American. Thousands of students in the Chicago area will be effected by this strike and it will be interesting to see if this labor action effects the presidential race between President Obama and Mitt Romney.
