Malice Aforethought Fits As Casey Anthony Goes On Trial For Caylee's Murder

While it might seem strange to some people, there are many different legal terms for the act of murder against another human being. From accidental death to various severity's of manslaughter to finally the act of cold blooded murder called Malice Aforethought when a person plans and then carries out the act of cold blooded murder against another human being.

The legal term 'Malice Aforethought' is the primary reason why Casey Anthony is facing first degree murder charges for the death of her two year old daughter, Caylee. Rather than facing a less serious charge of unintended murder or manslaughter, Casey Anthony has been charged with planning and then carrying out the ruthless murder of her daughter and then also trying to cover up her crime.

As the severity of murder charges increase, the unlikelihood that a prosecutor will win a conviction will decrease. Since a conviction of 'first degree murder charges' usually involves either a life prison sentence or the death penalty, juries sometimes become uneasy when convicting a person unless there is rock solid evidence against the person who is charged with the crime.
