Arizona Law Racist Or The Right Thing To Do?

"Arizona Law Racist Or The Right Thing To Do?" It's been a little over 24 hours since the Governor of Arizona signed into law the toughest immigration reform rules in the nation. Of course, the usual ultra-right and ultra-left wing nuts had their say first - but over the next few months, I think it will be interesting to watch and see what really happens as a result of this new Arizona law once it goes into effect. Sadly, my gut feeling is nothing will really change in Arizona because the people who traffic in illegal immigration and it's side business of drug smuggling - will continue on their merry path towards profits ignoring all laws put into place to stop them.

While the Arizona legislature has gone out of it's way to proclaim this new Arizona immigration law to not be racist, most certainly there are factions promoting this law who are indeed motivate by racism. I support the United States doing anything to tighten up our loose and out of control border situation, but I doubt this new law will do anything but put Arizona in the cross-hairs of political extremist who will work to show their displeasure of this new law by boycotting Arizona from government, travel and business income.
