Other places around the country, including the Mississippi Delta, Detroit and suburban Phoenix, face similar problems. The Association of American Medical Colleges estimates that in 2015 the country will have 62,900 fewer doctors than needed. And that number will more than double by 2025, as the expansion of insurance coverage and the aging of baby boomers drive up demand for care. Just hours after Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney seized on her comments to criticize President Barack Obama, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., issued a statement offering her regrets about her observation while insisting that she was confident the president did not disclose classified information. "I am disappointed by the statements made by Mr. Romney today regarding a question I was asked yesterday at the World Affairs Council," Feinstein said. The tax policy clash played out on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday as Meet the Press host David Gregory played a clip of Obama saying in 2010 that “the economy remains somewhat fragile” and asked Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin, “If it was a bad idea to raise taxes in a down economy then, why is it a good idea to raise taxes in a down economy now?” Full Story: Can U.S. economy tolerate a tax increase in 2013?
