I-694 Fatal Crash Caused By Speeding Driver - Minnesota

Around 8:15 PM on Friday there was a horrific traffic accident on I-694 near Fridley. Two people were killed, but fortunately a 1-year-old child is expected to make a full recovery. Police believe the person driving the car was traveling at a speed in excess of 100 MPH when he hit a truck. Witnesses said the speeding car made no attempt to slow down before the fatal crash. The passenger who was killed has been identified as Patrice Hooks of Hopkins. The name of the driver has not been released at this time. It is believe that the truck was sitting motionless on the road at the time of the collision. According to the Facebook page of Patrice Hooks, she was pregnant and looking forward to the birth of her second child this fall.
