Aaron Ybarra, Age 26, Arrested For Seattle Shootings

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Seattle, Washington after he alleged showed up at Seattle Pacific University and started shooting people. The violence began around 3:30pm local time and could have been much worse - if not for the brave efforts of a student who tackled Aaron Ybarra, sprayed him in the face with pepper, then kept him on the ground until police arrived. No motive has been released in this case, but at least the alleged perpetrator was taken alive. Once again, gun control advocates have already taken to the airwaves demanding tougher laws on firearms. Even the Mayor of Seattle hinted as much in a late Thursday afternoon news conference. Time will tell, but I think it will be proven that Ybarra is mentally ill and just like with so many other people – he was not forced to undergo treatment. Rather than always blaming guns for these crimes, why don't we pass tougher laws making it easier to confine folks who are not sane in the head.
