Millions Await The Release Of Samsung S8

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S8 and it might be the most beautiful smartphone ever made. It appears to be something a hyper-intelligent alien race accidentally dropped and we now get to study it. But under the microscope you’ll find it is clearly and frustratingly human, its perfection marred by series of bizarre and occasionally facepalm-worthy flaws.

Diane Sawyer 20/20 Interview With Caitlyn Jenner

There is “peace” in Caitlyn Jenner’s soul.

That’s the message she had for Diane Sawyer ― and the millions of people who tuned in for her second in-depth interview on ABC’s “20/20” to celebrate the anniversary of coming out as transgender in April 2015.

“I’ve grown into Caitlyn,” she told Sawyer on Friday night. “It’s tough to take 65 years of being Bruce and being male, and then like, overnight, everything changes. At first you don’t know how to handle it.”

But now? “All of that confusion has left me,” she said.

The interview, which comes just days before Jenner is set to release her highly anticipated memoir, The Secrets Of My Life, touched on a wide range of issues, from her transition to politics to her feelings about being a representative for the transgender community.

Surgeon General Murthy Replaced By President Trump

U.S. Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy has been removed by the Trump administration and replaced temporarily by his deputy, Rear Adm. Sylvia Trent-Adams.

Murthy, a holdover from the Obama administration, was asked to resign, according to a statement released Friday night by the Department of Health and Human Services. The statement said that “after assisting in a smooth transition into the new Trump administration,” Murthy “has been relieved of his duties.” Trent-Adams, a 24-year veteran of the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and a former chief nurse officer of the Public Health Service, will fill the role for now, the statement said.

In a post on Facebook, Murthy wrote that “for the grandson of a poor farmer from India to be asked by the President to look out for the health of an entire nation was a humbling and uniquely American story. I will always be grateful to our country for welcoming my immigrant family nearly 40 years ago and giving me this opportunity to serve.” His dismissal came on the eve of the March for Science, which drew thousands of demonstrators to the National Mall.

President Trump To Speak At NRA Meeting

President Donald Trump will be the first President to speak at the NRA Annual Meetings since Ronald Reagan did it in 1983.

He will speak to the NRA’s 2017 Leadership Forum in Atlanta on April 28.

Breitbart News reported that the NRA endorsed Trump on May 20, 2016, during the 2016 Annual Meetings in Louisville, Kentucky. Thereafter, the NRA campaigned for Trump, and Trump reminded voters again and again that he would work with the NRA to save the Second Amendment if elected.

Trump will now return to speak to the gun rights group that cheered him to victory last year. Bloomberg reports that this will make him “the first U.S. president to address the gun-rights group since Ronald Reagan in 1983.”

World's Oldest Person (117) Died Today

Emma Morano, at 117 the world’s oldest person who is also believed to have been the last surviving person born in the 1800s, died Saturday at her home in northern Italy, her physician said.

Dr. Carlo Bava told The Associated Press by phone that Morano’s caretaker had called him to say she had stopped breathing in the afternoon while sitting in an armchair at her home in Verbania, a town on Italy’s Lake Maggiore.

Bava said he had last seen his patient on Friday when “she thanked me and held my hand,” as she did every time he called on her. While Morano had been increasingly spending more time sleeping and less time speaking in recent weeks, she had eaten her daily raw egg and biscuits that day, he said.

Massive Missile Failure In North Korea

A missile fired from North Korea’s east coast Sunday “blew up almost immediately,” the U.S. Pacific Command said.

The launch came near the city of Sinpo and one day after one of the biggest North Korean propaganda events of the year – celebrations of the 105th birthday of late North Korea found Kim Il Sunday.

“U.S. Pacific Command is fully committed to working closely with our allies in the Republic of Korea and in Japan to maintain security,” U.S. Pacific Command Cdr. Dave Benham said in a statement.

A U.S. official told Fox News that President Trump was notified of the failed launch.

The missile failure comes a day after North Korea paraded its intercontinental ballistic missiles in a massive military display in central Pyongyang.
